I’m doing it. Finally. Doing this writing thing I’ve been talking about for years. After scribbling fragments of ideas, journaling daily details, and erupting onto crisp white pages instead of public embarrassment, I’ve avoided the hard work of craft and revision and stayed away from publishing.
No more. In 2015, my younger son graduated medical school and married within three weeks. I felt adrift in an empty nest and knew the time was right to honor my junior high promise to myself. A corner is now well past my rear-view mirror.
This site is not only a place to re-publish work accepted and printed in literary journals, but also a safe place to stamp my foot, investigate interesting-to-me ideas, and post pictures that speak to those ideas. This blog seemed a natural step in the direction I’m moving, and I welcome you and your ideas.
